Five Days with Drake

If you know me, you know that usually I like to wait to listen to albums until the dust settles a bit. I’m told for someone that wants to be an A&R this isn’t a good quality about me. But I don’t like to have the background chatter of social media taint my views of how I really feel about a project. For example, I didn’t even indulge in Kanye's latest album until about a week after it dropped (I didn’t want to contribute to his first week numbers due to his recent shenanigans).

However, I decided to take a different approach with my listening experience this time around. I’d spend five days listening to ONLY Scorpion, dissecting it in all the ways I wanted to, weathering it myself, taking notes, talking to my peers about it. In a time where everyone is competing to drop a review first how can you possibly feel the essence of a project that way, I wanted to take my time with this album. Below are my thoughts:
