It's been two weeks since Trippie Redd dropped his debut album "Life's A Trip;" and according to Billboard, as of August 25th, he's charted his first Top 10 spot. Redd came in at No. 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums list, well earned for the young artist. I trimmed through the fat of the album for those of you (like me) that can only handle so much new age emo rap. These are my most played/favorite tracks (in order of appearance of on album).

#3. "Wish"- released back in April, this single featuring Diplo is still one of my FAVORITES (also appears on Diplo's California EP).

#4. "Missing My Idols"- I love this track because you get a different flow from Trippie. It's somewhat of an ode to those that came before him, not necessarily lyrically moreso HOW he articulates his flow, is the true honor to his idols.

#5. "Forever Ever"- Young Thug feature, almost forgot I was listening to Trippie's album & not Thug's

#6. "Bird S**t"- One of the few whiney tracks I really fuck with

#7. "Bang!"- Notice the Kodak Black "Tunnel Vision" sample

#12. "Oomps Revenge"- FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! flow is impeccable, similar to Missing My Idols, I'd love to hear more tracks like this from him.

I spent these past two weeks not sure how I felt about this album, but as I began to write this I realized in fact, I like it. I can't say if we'll still be listening to this album in a year or so, and although the whaling can be too much sometimes, I can say that this was a solid debut album for Redd.

Note: An underlying theme to listen for throughout the album is the influence of XXXtentacion, at times it feels almost like a tribute to his late friend.
